Prism Executive are retained by a global electrical and energy distributor to appoint a Country Manager HVAC to lead and develop their HVAC business in Ireland. The ideal candidate will manage their current HVAC category whilst implementing a robust structure into the category, growing it through new products and manufacturer engagement. 


The role holder will work closely with the wider global group and HVAC team in Europe, supporting stakeholders across the network. Holding a unique skill when engaging with other internal stakeholders, the role holder will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of the HVAC category with the overall objective of maximising the profitability and contribution to the business, and people growth within the category. They will build a team of Technical Sales, Estimators, Engineers, and Designers.

The appointee will be a key contributor in ensuring compliance and profitability are best in class in the HVAC category, delivering an effective management process across operational policies and procedures, logistics, employee relations and customer service standards.



The global strategic roadmap has a key aim of ‘accelerating electrification’ by providing solutions to our customers that aid this energy transition. Several countries, particularly in Europe, already have a comprehensive ‘electrification’ offering across the areas of HVAC, PV, EV, Energy Storage and Smart Building Solutions.



  • The Country Manager will propose the business case for resources and agree with the Head of Energy Solutions and Executive Committee.

  • Lead the strategic and commercial direction of the Ireland HVAC division – with full support from, and in consultation with, the Executive Committee and Head of Energy Solutions.

  • Evaluate and select new brands and products (particularly around Heat Pumps and Heat Pump Technology), and the range of product types that Ireland will stock.

  • Deliver agreed targets and management of resources

  • Grow a HVAC team through external recruitment and/or any suitably qualified internal transfers.

  • Place a structure around the existing HVAC product range, to enhance this offering.

  • Participate in the Global ‘best practice sharing community’ for HVAC – an opportunity to learn from other divisions and share information on brands/products.

  • Work with the Energy Solutions division to develop an integrated HVAC >PV >EV >Battery offer.

  • Developing relationships with consultants, specifiers, architects, installers, and construction companies.

  • Roll out a product training programme to Ireland sales staff, with ongoing updates.

  • Collaborate with internal marketing and webshop team to develop offline and online promotional strategies.



  • Built out and lead the HVAC category (including Heat Pump Technology)

  • Experience (6+ years) in the HVAC sector

  • Have a strong strategic and operational focus, with formidable management and leadership skills

  • Be competent in managing existing accounts, and in the development and management of new accounts in line with company expectations, with the support of the sales team.

  • Experience at growing, leading and mentoring teams

  • Be a results-driven achiever, with exemplary planning and organisational skills.
