Prism Executive have been retained by a leading Irish Energy organisation to appoint a Solar Project Manager and Engineering Support into their Solar business unit. As part of a European Energy Group, our client is a market leader across the Irish landscape delivering solutions in solar PV, battery storage and lighting to the Commercial and Industrial markets.

The Solar Project Manager and Engineering Support will work closely with the Irish business supporting the Technical Sales and Solar team across the business network. Holding a unique skill when conducting solar audits and managing projects, the appointee will understand clients needs and engineering requirements. The role holder will be responsible for managing project delivery and deadlines providing a best-in-class service to their clients. Ensuring all procedures are implemented, and the project team is working to efficiently and effectively to project time frames, maintaining motivation and momentum.

As this is a pivotal hire into the business, the appointee will have exposure across international markets with experience in Solar PV and AC infrastructure. Be a strong leader and mentor of all onsite and offsite teams. The appointee will be the driving force behind each project ensuring all projects are delivered with best-in-class attention to detail and delivery.

A key contributor in ensuring compliance and profitability are best in class in the solar category, delivering an effective project management process across operational policies and procedures, logistics, employee relations and customer service standards.

Key responsibilities and Objectives:

  • Assist the sales team with technical sales support to close deals.

  • Undertake Solar PV site audits.

  • Delivering energy efficient & renewable solutions that meet customer's requirement and expectation.

  • Work with inhouse engineering team to assist with specification.

  • Provide technical training to Solar division

  • Work closely with company management to manage the pipeline reporting to the commercial director.

  • Manage project from customer contract to completion & Execute project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and implementation in accordance with Customer requirements and approved processes and procedures.

  • Coordinate and lead final walkthrough to obtain customer acceptance and sign-off at completion.

  • Completing Health and Safety packs prior to Project Commencement

  • Handover of Operation & Maintenance manuals for the client

  • Select and sub-contract the project works to an approved contractor, verifying/approving any scope changes, reviews with Operations Team on project status, verification of completion of all milestones.

  • Active problem solving on site and handling customer queries that may arise from time to time during the project.


Projects Nationwide

  • Travel around the country assisting sales people and identifying what projects will require on site presence. Estimate for this role will be a minimum 3 days on site.


  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in electrical engineering and project management

  • Strong knowledgeof Solar PV and AC infrastructure

  • Excellent time management, project management, written and verbal communication skills.

  • Be highly organised and detail oriented.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project

  • Be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work both independently and collaboratively, and function well under pressure Performance based bonus paid bi-annually.

  • Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and can develop innovative and practical solutions to technical problems.

  • Good at building rapport with customers to achieve a closer working relationship.

  • Cost-conscious and have a meticulous approach to quality.

  • There will be a requirement to work outside of general office hours.

  • Full clean driving licence
