Prism Executive have been retained to appoint a Head of Finance for a global Engineering organisation. A hybrid role based in Waterford with remit for Ireland.

The role holder will work closely with the senior management team and other senior internal stakeholders in implementing and leading best in class commercial, financial and operational strategic policy across all layers of the organisation.

As this is a pivotal hire into the business, the appointee will hold experience across international markets. Be a strong leader and mentor of the finance and commercial teams gaining credibility and engagement with senior external stakeholders.

The Head of Finance will use their financial competencies to support the Finance Director and Board of Management by driving financial analysis to support financial planning and budgeting. Whilst commercially strong, the appointee will champion and drive collaboration and communication management across the finance function, working with an advanced and already well-established capable team. They will identify and deliver appropriate cost effective, secure solutions bringing added value to both customers, suppliers, and employees.

With offices in Ireland, Denmark, Sweden, and Germany delivering leading edge next generation solutions to clients by designing, building, and installing Data Centres, Pharma and Medical Device plants and Renewable Energy Systems.   • Supporting the Finance Director and other Senior Management in managing and reviewing commercial and financial performance of the business against targets and other metrics

  • Timely and accurate preparation of the monthly and annual management accounts

  • Management of dedicated personnel on the finance team

  • Budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis including Preparation of various performance and internal KPI packs

  • Cashflow management and reporting

  • Overall management of Payroll, VAT & PAYE

  • Annual statutory audit procedures

  • Ensuring entity is fully compliant with all relevant laws, accounting standards and filing requirements

  • Preparation of monthly and ad hoc finance and business reports for Management and Board meetings

  • Provide bespoke financial information to better enhance the commercial decision-making process


  • Successful candidate will have relevant accountancy qualifications ACCA/ACA/CIMA

  • 8+ years' experience desired within a busy finance function in a Construction/Engineering environment.

  • Excellent professional communicator, Strong Commercial acumen, Exacting attention to detail, Strong demonstrable Computer, IT and Digital Skills.

  • International (Nordics) experience advantageous but not essential.
