LIGHTING BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER | ELECTRICAL GROUP | DUBLIN, NATIONWIDE



Prism Executive have been retained by a leading global electrical wholesale group to appoint a Business Development Manager into the lighting division . The role will be based out of Dublin, with the option of a nationwide location and a customer remit across Ireland.


This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing lighting design team within Ireland’s leading electrical wholesale group, promoting a diverse brand portfolio and growing relationships with new customers and clients across major electrical engineering practices and contractor organisations.


The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong technical and lighting foundation

  • Good product knowledge

  • A focus on energy efficient design combined with a creative flair.

  • Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with engineers and other stakeholders.

  • Excellent attention to detail to each project from initial discussions, through design scoping and presentation using the vast range of the portfolio, custom built products and controls.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for the establishment and maintenance of new business in the area of lighting and lighting controls.

  • Create sales reports, project reports, sales calls follow up, competition situation.

  • Develop and execute sales strategy and tactics that maximise opportunities within the customer environment.

  • Create partnerships with accounts, final users, and distributors.

  • Proactively prospect and drive new sales through cold calls, meetings, and sales research.

  • Sales

  • Project Pipeline

  • Margin

Essential Experience:

  • Full drivers licence

  • Proven sales excellence in a B-to-B context (+2 years exp) – an acknowledged high performer in their current business.

  • Experience in lighting and have good understanding of lighting controls.

  • Have the ability and confidence to present CPD’s and presentations to engineers/ contractors

  • Results oriented with a good track record in sales and development of accounts and account penetration.

  • Ability to develop and harvest relationships within assigned accounts and customers.

  • Strong customer service focus.

  • Must have excellent time management and organisational skills.

  • Understanding customers technical needs and market the advantages of our technologies

  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

  • Good negotiation and use of initiative

  • Positive and persuasive attitude
