Prism Executive have partnered with  an industry-leading inertial systems company offering quality, robust gyroscopes and accelerometer solutions to appoint a Product FPGA Engineer. It is Ireland’s largest space-related company and a global leader in inertial sensor technology.

Job Description:

As a product FPGA engineer, you will play a crucial role in our FPGA team. The successful candidate must have extensive experience architecting and designing and a track record of successfully delivering FPGA-based systems.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Specification/design of FPGA blocks

  • Design documentation, including FPGA requirements, specifications, design descriptions, and test specifications.

  • FPGA laboratory-based verification work, system integration and test.

  • Support existing FPGA design verification and board test activities.

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on system architecture and design, providing inputs to architecture and design reviews.

  • Write, simulate, and verify VHDL-based FPGA designs.

  • Schematic, PCB Layout support, and review.

 

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering

  • Proficient with scripting languages such as Python and programming languages such as C/C++ for simulation/design environment development and laboratory test results analysis.

  • Strong knowledge of FPGA design flow: Verification, Synthesis, Partitioning, Place & Route, Timing Closure and Power Estimation

  • Knowledge of interface protocols, memory technologies and communication interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C).

  • Experience working with electronic circuit & system design: analogue, digital and power.

  • Knowledge of embedded systems and processor architectures

  • Experienced in using laboratory equipment such as Oscilloscope, Signal Generator, and Signal Analyser.

  • Experience with tools such as SVN & Git

  • Preferred experience with VHDL and ECSS-Q-ST-60-02 – ASIC & FPGA Development design flow for space projects.

  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Team player

  • Hardware/System debug skills

  • Very proficient reading and writing in English, other languages preferable.
