HEALTH & SAFETY SPECIALIST | WHOLESALE DISTRIBUTION


Due to rapid pace of growth within Group, Prism Executive have been retained by a Global Wholesale Electrical Distribution client to appoint a Health & Safety Specialist to their new Distribution Centre.

This position will report into the Health, Safety and ESG Manager and will have the responsibility of managing all aspects of Health and Safety across the branch network throughout Ireland and supporting the onsite team at the Distribution Centre where required. To provide expertise, direction, and support on implementing a branch wide H&S programme with ESG focus.


Responsibilities:

  • As part of this role, you will be expected to work with and provide positive development to the branch teams to maintain all group health and safety requirements.

  • Management of internal Health and Safety Audits for branch activities.

  • Support the Health, Safety and ESG manager in developing and managing all site processes and improvements.

  • Submit regulatory reports as required.

  • Scope, assess and support the implementation of group Health and Safety training toolkits and modules.

  • Assist or carry out accident investigation reports in a timely manner.

  • Investigate and support the operations team with the incident / accidents reports on the group Health and Safety Management System.

  • Ensure all workflows and processes comply with safety regulations.

  • Provide technical support to all branch teams ensuring compliance with both regulations and group requirements.


As required, provide administrative support to:

  • Monitor compliance with applicable H&S legislation and take corrective action where required to ensure a compliant and safe workplace.

  • Collaborate with the Risk & Assurance Team to ensure workplace projects and operations are in line with the Veolia Minimum Requirements.

  • Ensure all necessary inspections and maintenance is carried out and recorded for all machinery, forklifts, cable cutting machines etc.

  • Attend group Risk and Assurance meetings / briefings where required.

Experience:

  • Two years’ experience working in a similar role.

  • With a strong emphasis on Health & Safety, a working knowledge of protocols for is required.

  • Ability to work with detailed information in a structured fashion.

  • Third level qualification in a related subject is preferred but not essential.

  • Understanding of ESG protocols and innovation in this area preferred.

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
