Prism Executive have partner with a leading private healthcare body to appoint a Head of Group Financial Reporting. The appointee will be responsible for leading the group financial reporting function ensuring timely and accurate accounting and reporting as well as maintaining a strong governance and control environment. Key to this role will be the ability to communicate simply & effectively to different levels in the organisation recognising that communications need to be appropriate to audience and purpose.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Centralising the group financial reporting function in Dublin
Management of timely and accurate preparation of all financial, management and external reporting requirements
Manage group consolidation process across multiple entities
Responsible for managing month end reporting timetables to ensure deadlines are met
Managing all compliance requirements (including statutory audits, financial statements completion, overseeing VAT and Corporate Tax computations, etc.)
Completion of external audits ensuring plans to address any control weaknesses are implemented.
Monitor and manage cash flow, working capital and funding requirements
Liaise with banking partners on queries and coordinate delivery of financial reporting & covenant targets
Supervising and controlling the company balance sheets, associated audit trail and analysis to ensure a clean balance sheet with strong review process, governance and controls
Drive continuous improvement of the financial reporting processes, systems and controls
Develop clear roadmaps to eliminate inefficient & ineffective processes within financial reporting area
Input, support and add value on all key programmes with Financial Reporting touch points
Deliver timely, clear concise reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
Develop effective relationships with stakeholders through strong communication and collaboration.
Influence the business appropriately to mitigate risks
Mentor and manage a team of qualified and part qualified accountants
Document processes and procedures & arrange/deliver any training as required.
Where appropriate provide work direction & guidance to staff.
Essential Skills/ Attributes
Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)
Ideally but not essential Big 4 practice trained and will have moved into a dynamic, fast paced industry environment
A minimum of 3 years’ + post qualification industry experience required, flexible in the specific industry sector.
Excellent all-round communication skills with ability to effectively analyse data & provide recommendations.
Customer focused & proven team player with strong collaborative and influencing skills.
Strong financial and process improvement experience.
Flexible and adaptable style with the ability to deal with deadlines and ad hoc requests.
Ability to produce clear documents, business reports and presentations.
Ability to prioritise workload and manage time effectively, to meet key milestones and manage competing priorities
