FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT | HEALTHCARE DUBLIN



A private healthcare provider has retained Prism Executive to identify and appoint a Financial Accountant to join their Finance team. The successful appointee will report to the Senior Financial Accountant and will play a key role in performing ongoing bank, cash and other statement reconciliations, preparing the month-end accounts, assisting in annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting and reporting on the key trading KPI’s.


The Role:

  • Management of timely and accurate preparation of monthly financial and management accounts.

  • Responsible for managing month end reporting timetables to ensure deadlines are met.

  • Supervising and controlling the company balance sheets, associated audit trail and analysis.

  • Monthly oversight of entity Balance Sheets, governance and controls.

  • Supporting compliance reporting requirements (including statutory audits, financial statements completion, VAT and Corporate Tax computations, etc.)

  • Completion of external audits ensuring plans to address any control weaknesses.

  • Support the testing and roll out of a new IT system across the hospital group

  • Maintenance of systems and controls to ensure adequate backup documentation and audit trail for transactions.

  • Drive and implement efficiencies in process and procedures and financial reporting.

  • Input, support and add value on all key programmes with Financial Reporting touch points.

  • Deliver timely, clear concise reporting to stakeholders.

  • Act as a Business Partner to assigned business areas.

  • Develop effective relationships with stakeholders through strong communication and collaboration.


Essential Skills/ Attributes

  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) – circa 3 years’ + post qualification experience

  • Ideally but not essential Big 4 practice trained and will have moved into a dynamic, fast paced industry environment.

  • Strong monthly management accounts preparation and financial statements preparation is important.

  • Excellent all-round communication skills with ability to effectively analyse data & provide recommendations.

  • Key to this role will be the ability to communicate simply & effectively to different levels in the organisation recognising that communications need to be appropriate to audience and purpose.

  • Customer focused & proven team player with strong collaborative and influencing skills.

  • Flexible and adaptable style with the ability to deal with deadlines and ad hoc requests.

  • Results driven, with strong focus on delivery & time management.

  • Strong financial and process improvement experience.

  • Strong reporting abilities with attention to detail & high levels of accuracy critical in all aspects of the role.

  • Ability to produce clear documents, business reports and presentations.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills essential.

  • Ability to prioritise workload and manage time effectively, to meet key milestones and deadlines.

  • Need to consistently deliver accurate and relevant information against important business deadlines while maintaining a system of strong internal financial controls.
