Prism Executive have partnered with a rapidly grown retail organisation to appoint a Head of Marketing. The appointee will report into the Managing Director, to ensure the marketing function carries real commercial impact and a voice in decisions as they are being made.

The role calls for a broad marketer who is comfortable across the whole mix, with genuine depth in all areas of the marketing mix: brand, proposition, insight, and marketing technology and measurement. They have to be willing and capable of jumping from the 'balcony to the pitch' as and when is required.

The role holder will build on the established propositions, recognised brands and a functioning marketing team — bringing strategic coherence and depth to each of the propositions.

Requirements:

  • Depth in brand, proposition, insight, and marketing tech and measurement

  • Senior marketing leadership with direct people management experience

  • Set marketing strategy for multiple distinct propositions or brands within one business

  • Demonstrable B2B marketing to the senior leadership and board of management team

  • Product or proposition marketing for a technology, SaaS or subscription offering

  • Track record of building marketing capability and of developing individual marketers

  • Genuinely hands-on with recent personal delivery experience — a player-manager, not a director of others' work

  • Demonstrable ability to move between strategic and detailed work at pace

  • Experience adding capability through a mix of hires, agencies, suppliers and freelance support, and managing those partners well
