A global FMCG consumer brand distributor has retained Prism Executive to appoint a Head of Health & Beauty to join their leadership team. The role holder will be responsible for two large brand portfolios. Reporting into the General Manager, the appointee will have a strong line into brand stakeholders within the business and will be a key contributor to the overall business intelligence, commercial and operational direction of the Health and Beauty division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the key point of contact for the country managers of the health and beauty brands, fostering highly effective relationships with all key stakeholders.

  • Manage the relationship between all principles at different tiers of the organisation.

  • Implement the global brand & marketing strategy in a locally relevant way in the Irish & Northern Irish markets with a focus on increasing distribution, rate-of-sale and top of mind awareness.

  • Create a clear brand and communications strategy for the H&B portfolio, working with the Brand Principals, alongside local media & PR agencies to bring to life best-in-class campaigns which build brand fame and top of mind awareness. Always look to disrupt the norms and outthink key competitors.

  • Be the gatekeeper and manage existing and new to market H&B portfolio products, skus & formats. Identify gaps and build case studies to get buy-in from internal teams & brand principals.

  • Be entrepreneurial and constantly look at ways to improve the portfolio.

  • Collaborate with the Leadership Team to uncover insights and opportunities for potential new health & beauty brands. Manage the pitch process and the onboarding of new brands into the business.

  • Work alongside the Commercial Lead H&B to deliver profitable growth, analysing performance, highlighting the key commercial factors, and working with division heads and the finance department to develop aggressive budgets.

  • Work alongside the Commercial Lead H&B, oversee, track and deliver on all aspects of the healthy & beauty brands’ performance: distribution, rate-of-sale, sales vs budget, spend vs budget, SKU performance & opportunities, channel performance & opportunities, brand equity measures, opportunities & threats.


  • An understanding of health, beauty & personal care consumer goods categories and the Irish retail & pharmacy landscape.

  • Minimum 8-10 years experience with retail brands

  • A strong communicator with a proven ability at stakeholder management and the ability to foster close working relationships.

  • A strategic thinker, good at analysis and problem-solving with strong planning and organisation.

  • A creative thinker with the ability to innovate and 'think outside the box'.

  • A resilient self-starter with a result driven, entrepreneurial streak.

  • Passionate about consumer trends and building brands in the Irish marketplace.

  • Strong leadership experience and the ability to collaborate is essential.
